  • Pioneer Days June 5-9 – our local museum is hosting Swan Hills, Barrhead Elementary, Neerlandia Public, Neerlandia Private and ourselves (June 6)
  • July 6-9 Homecoming Celebrations – include the arrival of a Voyageur Canoe brigade from Whitecourt on their way to Athabasca, parade, free community BBQ and entertainment, guided historical walks, old time games for kids, and more.

Elementary Basketball

  • It was great to have so many fans in the stands for our final home game last Tuesday!ort Alumni come to watch (Dusty Levy had a boy
  • Thank you to our Parent Society for running a concession for our home games
  • Swan Hills did a spectacular job organizing and running the final tournament on Thursday! Each team had their own room to relax in inbetween games. The players received a complimentary Gatorade and wrist band. Each team received a “Compliments Board” that players wrote on throughout the tournament. The concession was awesome, as were the plethora of games supplied for students to enjoy in between games.

Farm Safety

  • Grade 1 did a session on evaluating safe vs dangerous activities on the farm (being aware of machinery and animals, one seat one rider, don’t play on grain/hay stacks, etc.)
  • Grade 2&3 learned about hearing protection. Ear protection should be worn for 85 dB or louder. We listened to many mystery sounds and tried to predict if we needed hearing protection (lawn mowers, generators, tractors, chainsaws, dirt bikes, etc.). They asked the presenter a lot of questions!
  • Grade 4&5 learned about safety on ice and ATV use
