Happy New Year & Welcome Back! (17 days off was wonderful). Hopefully everyone is recharged and ready for a productive and fun January.
- Congratulations to Mrs. O’Brien on her recent retirement (Dec. 31, 2023). She is walking the talk with self care, and time with family is a priority.
- Another retirement is coming – our long time custodians Bonny Robinson and Cindy Brong are retiring in 3 months time.
- Community Donation – during the last week of Christmas celebrations, the owner of Grizzly Trail Motors (Westlock/Barrhead GMC) stopped by all Pembina Hills Schools with donations.

- Jr. High Basketball Practice/Meeting in the gym at lunch
- New CTF Courses begin today -thank you MaryAnne Lehman community volunteer leading Cooking with Mr. Hawken; Hydroponics with Mr. Hobson, and Basketball with Mrs. Hiemstra
- Jr. High Basketball travels to BCHS for a double header
- Depart at 3:30, return around 7:00 (Game vs Swan Hills at 4:30, BCHS at 5:30)

Reflections from Last Week:
- The last week before Christmas Break was filled with lots of wonderful Christmas activities! So many kudos for all staff and community volunteers…
- Megan P in the library – thanks for the goody bags and hosting Santa!
- Turkey Dinner – thank you Woodlands County Councillor Peter Kuelken for donating turkeys. Thank you Deb Breitkreitz for organizing volunteers for the preparation of the meal and many hours of her own! Thank you Laurie Budney for donating cookies from the museum. Thank you Teresa Dekker for playing Christmas carols on the piano.
- White Elephant Sale -wow, community donations were fantastic! Thank you Danielle Calahasen for organizing the volunteers for setting up, running the sale, and cleaning up. The smile on kids’ faces when they play Santa Claus for their families is priceless!
- Last Day Activities were fantastic! Thank you all staff for organizing a smooth day of clean up and fun.
