Fort Assiniboine School Week at a Glance  March 18-22, 2024

Fort Assiniboine School Week at a Glance  March 18-22, 2024

  • Transfer & Bussing Concerns – The current Pembina Hills AP 50-01 policy states parents may apply to transfer students in K-9 to BCHS or BES before the start of the next school year, but also states that transportation (bussing) is not provided (unless an exception is made by Regional Office Sr. Administration). This is a policy not under my control as a principal. A special meeting is being held on Wed. April 3 at 6:00 pm in the Library for concerned parents to meet with the Superintendent Brett Cooper and our School Board Trustee Melissa Hanna.

Information & Reflections from Last Week:

  • Celebration of Learning Meetings -Thank you  to all the parents that were able to attend. Teachers are currently making arrangements to meet with parents who were unable to attend.
  • Music Festival Showcase – what an outstanding accomplishment and experience for our Elementary Choir! The showcase featured amazing musical talent of all ages in piano, guitar, singing, and speech arts. Thank you to our parents who came through at short notice to transport all our students to the showcase. Thank you to Mr. Hawken and Mrs. Betz for all their hard work, including hauling a truck full of instruments. Mrs. Hiemstra received many compliments on behalf of the school while at the showcase, including “They are magicians!” Check out videos of the elementary choir’s performance on these links: https://www.facebook.com/FortAssiniboineSchool/videos/718575510462495
