Parent Math Night

Barrhead Community Adult Learning has created a parent night to assist parents and guardians with making the math their children are learning meaningful and understandable. We are sharing the following information on their behalf:

We know that it may have been a while since you have worked with the math that your children are now doing and we would like to help you help them. We have a very passionate math teacher who is our tutor for these sessions and he will work hard to make sure you leave feeling confident in your renewed skills.

Once a week on Tuesday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, we will be hosting a math tutoring session for parents and guardians. Come and bring your questions and we will assist in making it understandable.

  • This will be done via Zoom. If you have never used Zoom before don’t worry, we will help you with getting that set up. We will show you how to get onto a Zoom meeting, use chat during the meeting, and more.
  • Also we have an added value of uploaded videos you can access once registered. These videos will be on various numeracy subjects such as: algebra, integers, geometry, and more.

We are asking in return for a fee of $10.00 per family (no matter how many children you have in school), to help offset our tutor’s fee. If the fee is a financial challenge at this time, please contact us and we will assist where we can. The fee again includes all the parent math nights from January to June 2021, and access to the online videos.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email at bcal@bhssa.ca or by phone at 780-674-9643. We look forward to creating meaningful math for you and your children.
